For my research project, the research question is focused on examining the relationship between physical activity levels and stress levels in college students. The anticipated type of quantitative analysis that I will conduct is a correlation analysis.

I believe that correlation analysis is the best test for my data because it will allow me to determine the strength and direction of the relationship between physical activity levels and stress levels. By calculating the correlation coefficient, I can assess whether there is a positive, negative, or no relationship between these variables. This test is appropriate as it will provide valuable insights into the association between physical activity and stress, enabling me to draw meaningful conclusions.

In my research project, the independent variable is the physical activity levels, while the dependent variable is the stress levels. The independent variable is what I am manipulating or observing, which in this case is the amount of physical activity engaged in by the college students. On the other hand, the dependent variable is what I expect to be influenced or affected by the independent variable, which is the level of stress experienced by the students.

Moving on to the research hypothesis, it would be stated as follows: “There is a significant negative correlation between physical activity levels and stress levels in college students.” This hypothesis suggests that as physical activity levels increase, stress levels will decrease.

The null hypothesis, on the other hand, would state that there is no significant correlation between physical activity levels and stress levels in college students. This hypothesis implies that there is no relationship between the two variables.

By formulating these hypotheses, I aim to test whether there is indeed a significant correlation between physical activity and stress in college students or if any observed correlation is due to chance.
