NUR 308 – Adult Health II is a senior-level course in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the University of Miami. The course builds upon the knowledge and skills gained in NUR 304 – Adult Health I: Fundamentals of Nursing Practice. Students will learn about the pathophysiology, assessment, and management of common health problems of adult patients, including cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, and cancer. They will also learn about the special needs of adult patients, such as the needs of older adults and the needs of patients with chronic conditions.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of NUR 308 – Adult Health II, students will be able to:
- Define and explain key concepts in adult health and nursing practice
- Discuss the pathophysiology, assessment, and management of common health problems of adult patients
- Identify and analyze the special needs of adult patients
- Apply the principles of adult health care to nursing practice
- Advocate for the well-being of adult patients

Prerequisites
NUR 308 requires the following prerequisites:
- Completion of NUR 304 – Adult Health I: Fundamentals of Nursing Practice
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
