NUR 318 – Women’s Health Nursing is a senior-level course in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the University of Miami. The course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the health needs of women throughout the lifespan. Students will learn about the anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system, the common health problems of women, and the care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. They will also learn about the cultural and social factors that influence women’s health.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of NUR 318 – Women’s Health Nursing, students will be able to:
- Define and explain key concepts in women’s health nursing
- Discuss the anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system
- Identify and analyze the common health problems of women
- Provide care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period
- Implement health promotion strategies for women
