NUR 350 – Pathophysiology/Pharmacology for RN-to-BSN is a graduate-level course in the RN-to-BSN program at the University of Miami. The course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiology and pharmacology of common health problems. Students will learn about the mechanisms of disease, the signs and symptoms of disease, and the treatment of disease with medications. They will also develop the skills they need to apply their knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology to nursing practice.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of NUR 350 – Pathophysiology/Pharmacology for RN-to-BSN, students will be able to:
- Define and explain key concepts in pathophysiology and pharmacology
- Discuss the mechanisms of disease
- Identify and analyze the signs and symptoms of disease
- Apply the principles of pathophysiology and pharmacology to nursing practice
- Evaluate the effectiveness and safety of medications
- Educate patients about their medications

Prerequisites
NUR 350 requires the following prerequisites:
- Current RN license
- Completed a minimum of 60 credits of nursing coursework
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
