NUR 3805: Professional Nursing 1: Socialization at Florida International University (FIU) is a three-credit undergraduate course that introduces students to the process of professional socialization into the nursing profession.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including:
- The history and evolution of nursing
- The nursing code of ethics
- Nursing values and beliefs
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Conflict management
- Leadership and advocacy
- Stress management and self-care
Students in NUR 3805 will develop the knowledge and skills they need to transition from student to professional nurse. They will learn how to navigate the complex healthcare system, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team. They will also learn how to manage stress and take care of themselves physically and emotionally.
