NUR 406 – Current Issues in Healthcare is a senior-level course in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the University of Miami. The course introduces students to the most pressing issues facing the healthcare system today. Students will learn about the causes and consequences of these issues, as well as the strategies that are being used to address them. They will also develop the skills they need to critically analyze and evaluate current issues in healthcare.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of NUR 406 – Current Issues in Healthcare, students will be able to:
- Identify the most pressing issues facing the healthcare system today
- Discuss the causes and consequences of these issues
- Analyze the strategies that are being used to address these issues
- Critically evaluate current issues in healthcare
- Formulate their own opinions on current issues in healthcare
