NUR 610 – Quality Improvement and Safety in Health Care is a graduate-level course in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Siena Heights University. The course examines the principles and practices of quality improvement and safety in health care. Students will learn about the different quality improvement methodologies, the tools and techniques used to measure and improve quality, and the strategies for creating a culture of safety in healthcare. They will also develop the skills necessary to lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of NUR 610 – Quality Improvement and Safety in Health Care, students will be able to:
- Define and explain key concepts in quality improvement and safety in health care
- Identify and analyze the factors that contribute to quality of care and patient safety
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives
