NUR 634: Advanced Physical Assessment at Long Island University is a three-credit undergraduate course that teaches students how to perform comprehensive and focused physical assessments on patients of all ages and health conditions.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including:
- The principles and techniques of physical assessment
- The normal findings for each body system
- The abnormal findings for each body system
- The use of diagnostic tools to supplement the physical assessment
Students in NUR 634 will develop the skills they need to perform physical assessments that are accurate, efficient, and compassionate. They will also learn how to interpret the findings of their physical assessments and develop appropriate care plans for their patients.
Prerequisites: NUR 610: Nursing Research, NUR 612: Pathophysiology for Advanced Practice Nursing, and NUR 614: Primary Health Care of the Family
