NUR 695 A & B Precepted Practicum in Primary Care of the Family III at Long Island University is a three-credit undergraduate course that provides students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in the NUR 694 course in a real-world clinical setting under the supervision of an experienced preceptor.
The course is designed to help students develop their clinical skills in the following areas:
- Management of advanced complex health conditions
- Management of chronic health conditions
- Management of end-of-life care
- Interprofessional collaboration in the management of complex health conditions
- Cultural competency in the care of families with complex health conditions
Students will also have the opportunity to practice their leadership and mentorship skills, as they will be responsible for supervising and mentoring less experienced students in their clinical rotation.
