NUR801A is the first course in a two-course sequence that focuses on the DNP practice immersion experience. In NUR801A, students will begin to develop their DNP project and to identify a practice immersion site where they can implement their project.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including:
- Developing a DNP project plan
- Identifying and selecting a practice immersion site
- Developing a practice immersion contract
- Building relationships with key stakeholders at the practice immersion site
- Preparing for the practice immersion experience
NUR801A is a seminar-based course with a strong emphasis on student participation and discussion.
Students will participate in a variety of activities, including:
- Class discussions
- Group presentations
- Individual projects
- Guest lectures from experts in DNP practice immersion

Admission to the DNP program and completion of all required DNP foundational courses
