NURS 050 is a hands-on course that requires students to mentor their peers in the ELC for a minimum of 20 hours. Students will work with a faculty mentor to develop a mentoring plan that outlines their specific goals and objectives. Students will also receive training on how to provide effective feedback, support, and guidance to their peers.

Students will meet regularly with their faculty mentor to discuss their experiences and to reflect on their learning. At the end of the semester, students will submit a portfolio that includes documentation of their mentoring hours, a reflective essay, and a plan for future mentoring involvement.

Prerequisites

Completion of at least one semester of nursing clinical coursework GPA of 3.0 or higher Good academic standing
