NURS 312 is a three-credit undergraduate course that explores the ethical principles and practices of feminist nursing. Feminist ethics is a framework for ethical analysis and decision-making that is grounded in the values of equality, justice, and empowerment.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including:
- The history and philosophy of feminist ethics
- Feminist perspectives on health and well-being
- Ethical issues in women’s health care
- Ethical issues in nursing practice
- Social justice and advocacy in nursing
Students in NURS 312 will develop the knowledge and skills they need to apply feminist ethics to their nursing practice and to advocate for the rights and well-being of women and other marginalized groups.
NURS 312 is a lecture and discussion-based course with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will participate in a variety of activities, including:
- Case studies

- Guest lectures from experts in feminist ethics and women’s health care
- Field trips to women’s health clinics and advocacy organizations
