NURS 360 is a three-credit undergraduate course that introduces students to the principles and practice of family violence nursing.
The course covers a wide range of topics, including:
- The definition, types, and prevalence of family violence
- The impact of family violence on individuals, families, and communities
- Assessment and screening for family violence
- Intervention and support services for victims of family violence
- The nurse’s role in preventing and responding to family violence
NURS 360 is a lecture and discussion-based course with a strong emphasis on case studies and problem-solving.
Students will participate in a variety of activities, including:
- Case studies
- Role-playing exercises
- Guest lectures from experts in family violence nursing and other healthcare fields
- Field trips to domestic violence shelters and other healthcare settings
- Reflective journaling and essays

Completion of the second year of the nursing program
