Currently, the Nurse Manager has enjoyed the courses completed but finds the current course a favorite, “Emerging Healthcare Innovations.” She suggests meeting for coffee and reviewing the most recent assignment to get an idea of the quality and quantity of work required to complete DNP coursework successfully. She supplies the guidelines for the current assignment and tells you to attempt the Assignment to get a feel for the workload involved in DNP level course work in three days.

Based on your research regarding the innovators and proposed innovations, answer these questions in a Word document:

After researching the available options, I predict that mHealth, getwell network, will be the most successful innovation in Tampa’s healthcare setting.

Supporting this prediction is the increased use of mobile devices for managing healthcare, which is a growing need of the Tampa community. Also, mHealth provides personalized health management, care coordination, and healthcare education; this aligns with the needs of chronic care management and improving patient engagement in Tampa’s healthcare organization.

Two intrinsic factors that impact the success of mHealth are its user-friendliness and interoperability. Being user-friendly ensures a high provider and patient adoption rate, while interoperability ensures communication is streamlined and not disjointed in real-time data handling. Two extrinsic factors that impact the success of mHealth are government policies in enabling patient data privacy and security and offering reimbursement options for telemonitoring, mobile health apps, etc.

The sustainability of mHealth as a successful innovation will depend on the degree of integration with existing health information technology infrastructure and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies in healthcare. Also, a business model that monetizes the benefits that mHealth offers and addressing concerns related to the security of private patient data will be crucial in providing a better care service delivery model.
